At de Burgo, we design, manufacture, and install bespoke kitchens and wardrobes for residential developments. Every stage from concept to completion is handled in-house, giving you consistent quality, accurate timelines, and a smooth process from start to finish.
From our dedicated workshop and showroom in Chigwell, we work with developers, architects and designers across Essex, Hertfordshire, and beyond to create spaces that enhance your build, appeal to your buyers, and meet the demands of your project.
Whether you’re building boutique apartments, exclusive family homes, or mixed residential schemes, we adapt our designs, materials, finishes to suit your project’s specifications and target market.
We believe great design is achievable on any budget — what sets us apart is the quality of our service and the reliability of our delivery.
The de Burgo journey began over 40 years ago when Sean Burke F.I.O.C. completed his 5-year Carpentry & Joinery apprenticeship in City & Guilds and advanced City & Guilds, plus also completing The Institute of Master Carpentry & Joinery course, which entitled Sean to become a full Member Institute of Carpenters M.I.O.C.
After a period of time, Sean worked his way up through the construction industry and finally decided to start up his very own Carpentry & Joinery company in 1985 and opened a small woodwork workshop in Ilford Lane, Essex.
Sean’s aim was to provide high-quality joinery products including staircases, boxed sash windows, and doors to the Essex and London areas.
With the growth in orders starting to increase, so did the employment of qualified Carpenters & Joiners. We can also proudly say that we have sponsored and supported eight young apprentices through the years, who are now fully qualified Carpenters & Joiners and are actively working today.
We can also proudly say that we employ three members of Sean’s family who are working for the company.
The company’s reputation rapidly grew and eventually the company moved to a larger factory workshop in Chigwell, Essex. This allowed the company to take on larger multi-unit projects within the housing development industry without losing the hands-on quality that defined our beginnings. This is when the company moved into the manufacturing of quality Kitchens & Wardrobes for the housing development industry without losing its core values.
The company has kept its reputation for high-quality Kitchens & Wardrobes, including keeping a good working relationship with our customers.
Over the four decades in the construction industry, we still remain a family-run business with the same commitment Sean started out with all those years ago — to produce high-quality work to be proud of, to build lasting relationships, and to deliver every project with care and consistency.
